What Makes Humbowl a Healthy Fast Food Alternative?
Healthy is such a complicated term. What’s healthy for one may not be healthy for another. What’s healthy for you now, may not be healthy for you tomorrow (it probably will, this just helps get the point across).
We focus on whole foods and getting the right combinations of food onto your plate. Generally speaking a Humbowl is a whole grain, some veggies, a lean protein, and sauce. Humbowl is a healthy bowls restaurant. It’s hard to generalize healthy eating, but if there a way to do it, this is it. We get the food out pretty quickly. We cook to order, but unless you come in the middle of the lunch or dinner rush we can get most of our dishes out in about six minutes. In a convenient counter-service setting you can be in and out with your delicous, healthy meal almost as fast as traditional fast food. Only if we had a drive-thru…

From plant-based rice bowls to protein-packed meals, we make catering easy, delicious, and nourishing. Our delivery range is pretty large, we can offer catering services in Berkeley and San Rafael, the greater East Bay Area, most of Marin County and the North Bay, and even San francisco. Vegan-Friendly Dining - With Transparency
While we are not an exclusively vegan restaurant, our menu is designed so that most items can easily be made vegan. Just choose one of our plant-based proteins for any of our healthy bowls — like Hodo Foods organic tofu or slow-roasted legumes — and your Humbowl will be 100% vegan.

Gluten-Free Options at Humbowl
We didn’t set out to be a gluten-free restaurant, but most of our menu naturally was, and we made a few simple changes (like swapping out soy sauce) to make the whole thing 100% gluten-free. We don’t use any wheat, barley, rye, or gluten-containing ingredients in any of our recipes. That means all of our healthy bowls are made without gluten!

SNAP Community Resources
Humbowl accepts SNAP EBT. This is restricted by California’s Restaurant Meal Program to only participants who meet the following qualifications:
an adult aged 60 or older, a person with a disability, the spouse of an individual that belongs to one of the above categories, or a person experiencing homelessness.
This is something you set up with your SNAP account and is linked directly to your SNAP card.
Humbowl was proud to support our community in their time of need. We are glad to hear that SNAP is being funded again. We will continue to highlight the local businesses that stepped up in times of uncertainty to support their community, and we would encourage you to always consider these businesses when deciding where to spend your money.
Are you planning on leaving us a review?
If you love us and are going to review us on Yelp or Google, would you please consider using certain keywords that would really help others find us? The keywords have to naturally flow into your review and can’t just be shoved in there. These include “healthy”, “healthy bowls”, “gluten free”, “vegan options”, “group orders”, “catering”, “office lunches”.
A great example would be, “We went to Humbowl for lunch and loved all their healthy options. They had so many gluten free and vegan options too! I’m going to suggest to my work that we order in some Humbowl for our next office lunch, their food seems like it would be great for group orders and catering.”
Using this kind of phrasing will help us show up higher on search results for Google and Yelp, and someone searching for “healthy vegan food” will have an easier time finding us. Thank you so much and we hope you love our food!
