🌾 Our Entire Menu Is Gluten-Free — With Transparency You Can Trust

At Humbowl, we want everyone to feel welcome at the table. While we didn’t set out to be a gluten-free restaurant, we realized early on that most of our menu already was — and with a few thoughtful changes (like swapping soy sauce for tamari), we made the entire menu 100% gluten-free.

We don’t use any wheat, barley, rye, or gluten-containing ingredients in any of our recipes. From bowls to sauces to proteins, everything on our menu is made without gluten.

Important Notes About Our Kitchens

Berkeley Location
Our Berkeley kitchen is not a dedicated gluten-free facility. We share space with a bakery that uses wheat flour, which means airborne flour is a real concern. While we use separate cutting boards, knives, and utensils — and wash, rinse, and sanitize thoroughly — cross-contact is possible. On occasion, staff may also prepare non-menu items like sandwiches for themselves, which may involve gluten.

If you have celiac disease or a severe gluten sensitivity, we want you to have all the facts so you can make an informed decision about your comfort level when dining with us in Berkeley.

San Rafael Location
Our San Rafael restaurant does not share a facility with a bakery, which makes the risk of airborne gluten much lower. However, as in Berkeley, some staff meals may occasionally contain gluten, so we cannot guarantee zero risk of cross-contact.

Our Commitment to Transparency

We’re committed to being open and honest about how our food is prepared. While our menu is entirely gluten-free, cross-contact risks differ between locations. If you have celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, please let us know when ordering — our team will take extra care in preparing your meal.

We believe in serving food that is fresh, wholesome, and inclusive. That’s why Humbowl is a great option for gluten-free diners, vegans, and omnivores alike — perfect for mixed groups looking for healthy, satisfying meals.
